Yes! Both earbuds can be used independently. Both earbuds contain microphones for making calls and using you digital assistant.
If you just opened your new TrueConnect 2 box then simply activate Bluetooth from your source device then remove the earbuds from the charging case. You should see "RHA TrueConnect 2" within the list of discovered devices, tap this and you are paired!
For subsequent pairings, first check your earbuds are switched on and not connected to any other Bluetooth devices. Then hold the control button on the right earbud for 5 seconds. The indicator LED should begin flashing and you can now pair you earbuds with a new source device.
For more detailed instructions, please see our Bluetooth pairing guide.

We improved a lot on the first generation of TrueConnect, but not the look - we think we got that just right. Here's what we did change:
We also made the connection a lot stronger thanks to a new chip and some software improvements, resulting in 50% greater range. Lastly, we removed the mechanical buttons and replaced them with capacitive touch; so you only need to touch the button instead of pressing it in, moving the earbud in the process.
We placed not one but two microphones in each earbud. One microphone on the stem and one on the reverse of the bud (near the button). "Why?", I hear you ask...
The microphone on the stem is closer to your mouth, so it will pick up your voice strongly and external noise will be weaker. Whereas the rear microphone will pick-up external noise strongly and your voice will be weaker. Knowing this, TrueConnect 2 can identify which sounds are your voice and eliminate a lot of the background noises.
We designed the original TrueConnect earbuds with three specific goals in mind:
